The Brazilian Biogas Association (ABiogás) was established in 2013 to represent the biogas and biomethane sectors, solid and abundant energy sources. Over the past decade, we have served as a dialogue channel between our members and public and private stakeholders, including state and federal governments and regulatory agencies, positioning biogas and biomethane as drivers of Brazil’s energy transition, highlighting their attributes, and promoting market access.
ABiogás has paved the way to reinforce to Brazilian society that we have a mature and versatile energy source that not only helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also promotes a cycle of economic and social development, creating jobs and contributing to energy independence, generating up to 798,000 jobs (refer to the GEF Biogas study and include it).
Currently, we have over 165 member companies, representing all sectors of the production, utilization, and upgrading chain of biogas and biomethane, increasingly enriching Brazil’s energy matrix.
