Apine has been active since 1995 in promoting the sustainable development of the Brazilian electric sector, particularly in the generation field.

It is a non-profit trade association that brings together independent power producers and companies interested in the activity. It gathers small, medium, and large private generators, as well as generation concessionaires, who build, operate, and maintain power plants in Brazil and worldwide.
